Ninth Annual Encuentro Latino to be held Aug. 9 in Stockbridge

STOCKBRIDGE – The Ninth Annual Encuentro Latino will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, here.

The Encuentro is a free family event and includes rosary and procession, Mass, confessions and opportunities to visit the shrine’s life-size Stations of the Cross, Lourdes Grotto and candle shrines, all located on the 350-acre property.  

All events will be in Spanish, including Latin music and spiritual presentations and activities for children. The principal celebrant of the 1:30 p.m. Mass will be Marian Father Diego Maximino. Music ministry will be by Fire of God.

The praying of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy at 3 p.m. will be followed by blessing of religious articles and the raffle of a statue.

Food will be available for sale all day; participants may also bring picnic lunches and are invited to enjoy lunch under a shaded pavilion.
