JustFaith founder to present mission at Springfield parish

Staff report

SPRINGFIELD – Jack Jezreel, president and founder of JustFaith Ministries, will present “Hearts Wide Open: A Parish Mission in the Spirit of Pope Francis”  on April 8, 9 and 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Parish, 221 Plumtree Rd., here.

The goals of the mission, stated on the justfaith.org website, are to invite participants to:

  • A wider love that cross borders, without exceptions.
  • Eye-opening care and concern for the needs of neighbors.
  • Form small communities primed for the social ministry that is integral to the New Evangelization.

Following each day’s event, there will be a “social ministry fair,” in which participants may meet with local and national organizations to learn more about opportunities for involvement. Jezreel will be available to answer questions and provide information about JustFaith Ministries.

The mission of JustFaith Ministries is to create and support “formation processes that inspire commitment to social ministry,” according to published materials. Jezreel is described as “a popular and well-traveled speaker and teacher.” In 2006, he received the Harry A. Fagan Award “for his unique contribution to the church’s social mission.”

Jezreel lives in Louisville, Ky., with his wife, Maggie. They have three adult daughters.
