Annual Brightside Golf Classic set for July 16

SPRINGFIELD – More than 200 golfers are expected to participate in the 32nd Annual Brightside Golf Classic on Monday, July 16, at the Ranch Golf Club in Southwick and Springfield Country Club in West Springfield. This event raises approximately $100,000 to support the programs and services at Brightside for Families and Children in Holyoke.
Co-chairs of the 32nd Brightside Golf Classic are Joseph P. Shaw, first vice president, First Niagara; Steven E. Lowell, president, Monson Savings Bank; John E. Dowd Jr., executive vice president, Dowd Agencies; Paul Fritz, general manager, MassLive; and Brandon E. Braxton, vice president of Business Banking, First Niagara Bank
The schedule for the day includes registration and lunch at 11 a.m., a “shotgun start” at 12 p.m., followed by a reception at Carriage House at the Barney Estate in Springfield, which will feature an old fashioned New England Lobster Bake (or steak choice) beginning with the cocktail hour at 5:15 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.
All fees include: green fees, lunch at the course, a player gift from Brightside and an invitation to the fabulous reception including a live and silent auction. Golfers will be eligible for a chance to win many prizes, including $5,000 in cash, a spa or a car during the day.
A member of the Sisters of Providence Health System, Brightside for Families and Children provides in-home counseling and family support to more than 400 children and their families throughout the communities of western Massachusetts. This tangible support offers resource coordination, parenting skills development, behavioral technique instruction and many other tailored supports that work to prevent the hospitalization from occurring. Each year, the Brightside Golf Classic attracts more than 200 banking and business leaders from the Greater Springfield Area to support the work and mission of Brightside.
