HOLYOKE – Sister of St. Joseph Mary Fidelis McLee (Margaret Elizabeth), 88, died on July 28 at Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of William and Mary (Kenny) McLee. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Rutland, Vt., on Sept. 8, 1943 and made her final profession on Aug. 24, 1949. She became a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield in 2001 when the two communities merged.

Sister Mary Fidelis ministered during her nearly 69 years of religious life in Vermont, Arizona and Florida.     

Survivors include her sister, Mary B. Lucas of Bennington, Vt.; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield.     

There will be no calling hours. The funeral will be private in the Mont Marie Chapel.
